Urgent mental health support for young people in London campaign launch

Healthy London Partnership has launched a campaign to raise awareness among young people and their families of London’s free NHS mental health crisis lines.

The campaign has been developed with feedback and input from young people and parents, and will be largely based on social media.

Since 2020 we have seen an increase in young people needing urgent mental health support. That’s why every mental health trust in London has put in place a free crisis line, supported by trained mental health advisors and clinicians, and open 365 days a year.

However, research commissioned by HLP indicates that they are not well known among young people and parents. We need to ensure that the crisis lines and the services they provide are more widely known, so young people and their families can get help quickly when they need it. We also want to raise awareness of the crisis lines among professionals who may come into contact with young people in urgent mental health need.

Campaign toolkit

A toolkit of the social media assets, posters, and articles for your own publications and websites can be downloaded here. We hope you can support the campaign by using this material in your communications.

Remember to tag @HealthyLDN and use the campaign hashtag: #UrgentMHSupport_YoungLDN where you do to support the campaign and help raise awareness of the lines across your networks.

Many thanks to Partnership For Young London for supporting the development of these campaign materials.

About the crisis lines

Every mental health trust in London has put in place a free telephone service, supported by trained mental health advisors and clinicians, and open 365 days a year. These enable children, young people and their families to get free urgent mental health support 24/7.
