Liz Price is working with the London and South East Sarcoma Network and specialised commissioning across East of England, South East England and London regarding the network’s sarcoma pathways. Sarcoma pathways include soft tissue, bone and gastrointestinal stromal tumours (GIST). At the moment, soft tissue pathways are struggling with capacity and demand for diagnostic services.

With system stakeholders, we are identifying barriers in direct access to urgent ultrasound and conducting a baseline assessment of the Network’s services against the national sarcoma service specification. We are also working with the three tertiary Trusts in the Network – Royal Marsden Hospital, Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital and University College London Hospital – to review their clinical triage and diagnostics pathways.
