This report describes the challenges faced by London’s child death overview panels and how we have been supporting them to work together more effectively. It outlines our efforts to ensure that the panels can meet future challenges and our support for the professionals engaged in this work.
There are 28 child death overview panels in London – soon to be 29. Each panel reviews children’s deaths within their local authority. They seek to understand the factors that contributed to the death and share their learning to prevent future deaths wherever possible.
We are supporting London’s child death overview panels to improve how they work together so they can prevent future deaths and better support people affected by a child’s death.
