Demand for diagnostics is growing year on year and this is a major challenge for the NHS. Sourcing additional radiology or endoscopy capacity to address short or medium-term service pressures is not always possible or appropriate. Good patient flow and optimal utilisation of diagnostics capacity needs to be an integral part of service delivery.
