Social Prescribing is all about making connections to improve people’s wellbeing. It is crucial to all of us to be in touch with each other and build a strong London community of practice.
Therefore, we facilitate a number of meetings to allow networking, sharing opportunities, challenges, and inspiration across Social Prescribing services.
It would be great to see you in our London sessions. To find out what’s coming up, take a look at the calendar below and look down the page to find out more.

Social Prescribing Link Workers’ Peer Support
Every other Tuesday, 4pm – 5.30pm, sign up here.
This is an open session that aims to connect SPLWs with others doing a similar role.
The session involves facilitated discussion about how everyone is feeling, and the questions and challenges posed by SPLWs work currently and may use an action learning set approach in smaller groups where more practical solutions may be explored.
This session is a chance to:
- Offload and connect with other SPLWs in an informal session
- Discuss challenges and concerns in an open session
- Learn from other link workers in how they might have approached similar challenges
- Take part in action learning sets to explore solutions to a challenge or to support other SPLWs to do it
Social Prescribing Managers’ Support
Monthly, 4:00-5.30pm. Sign up here.
This monthly 1.5hrs long meeting aims to support Managers of SPLWs that are feeling the need to connect with others doing a similar role. It covers updates and discussion around themes of SP Managers’ choosing. Group sizes will sit at a maximum of 15 people and will be organised with managers in areas nearer to you if demand exceeds this number. It is more likely to be useful for those that have a team of SPLWs though open to all.
New Social Prescribing Link Workers’ Peer Support
Quarterly, check back for dates. Sign up here.
This session is an opportunity to cover common questions SPLWs have in the early days of being in post. It is a chance to have an ‘off the record’ chat with more experience SPLWs and involves facilitated discussion about the challenges posed by their work currently, gaps in knowledge and a chance to receive some guidance on some of the things new SPLWs can do to orientate themselves and find out more about the support available to them.
Peer Learning for London
Monthly, Wednesdays 12:30-2:00pm
This informal, monthly session focuses takes a specific theme each month, featuring guest speakers, SPLWs and SP Managers sharing how they have approached this work, top tips, resources they have found useful and so on.
