Through Thrive LDN, Healthy London Partnership is supporting a range of partners to promote mental health awareness next week.
We encourage Londoners to use the week to discuss their health and wellbeing and to get involved with some of the activities underway:
Walking Out of Darkness
An annual event to raise awareness of mental health and suicide. The event involves a 10 mile walk starting at Battersea Park. This year’s event will be held tomorrow 12 May. Thrive LDN is supporting press and social media, and will be running a Problem Solving Booth at The Scoop outside City Hall. If you’re around, do drop by the booth whilst we’re talking to Londoners about mental health and wellbeing, and for further info on the event itself please see Walking Out of Darkness.
This is Me
Thrive LDN works in partnership with This is Me – a campaign to tackle stigma and discrimination in the workplace. This is Me are running their Green Ribbon campaign during mental health awareness week to raise awareness of mental health in the workplace; wear yours and, if tweeting, be sure to use the hashtags #GreenRibbon and #endthestigma. In addition, This Is Me are hosting a breakfast event on 14 May for London employers. For more information see This Is Me and Green Ribbon.
