Devolution work in support of London’s estates transformation is progressing well.
Since our last update, Director of the London Estates Delivery Unit (LEDU), Sue Hardy has been building the team (both core and virtual), strengthening governance arrangements, supporting London’s STPs to meet immediate deadlines, establishing key relationships across the partnership, and placing the London Estates Board in the best possible position to move to phase III of devolution by April 2019.
Working in partnership
The hosting and co-location of the delivery unit by GLA creates strong alignment between the two housing and land teams. Positive working relationships are forming, and joint working is taking place in respect of a number of key programmes, i.e. One Public Estate and Homes for NHS staff , and on a number of major site opportunities.
Your feedback on the London Estates Strategy
In August 2018, co-Chairs of the LEB, Geoff Alltimes and David Slegg shared the latest draft of the estate strategy for comment. We are grateful for the considered and comprehensive responses we received and will be responding during November 2018.
Over the next six months the LEDU will focus on the following:
- Completion of the London Health and Care Estate Strategy
- Recruitment to key posts
- Wave 4 STP Capital Bids
- LEB shadow decision-making phase
- Robust programme management
- Engagement with NHS charities
- Homes for NHS staff pilot.
