Child death review programme launch report

The Healthy London Partnership Child Death Review Programme was established in 2016 to support the 28 London Child Death Overview Panels (CDOPs) to standardise and improve the quality of child death reviews, identify learning and system improvements, and reduce child mortality. Since 2017, the programme has supported the health systems in London come together to achieve compliance with the new statutory requirements which came into effect on 29 September 2019.

This report outlines the work and impacts of the programme between 2016-2019, the progress of system changes across London, and key actions that should be taken forward by Child Death Review Partners and stakeholders over the coming year.

The programme term has been extended to March 2020 and the report summarises the proposed work of the programme during this period.
